Bergfried offers an organic castle-building experience on a unique grid that captures the irregular shapes of European castles from the high and late middle ages. Build castles that follow the contours of the landscape, taking full advantage of natural defenses or impose strict geometric layouts to fortify your domain. Plan your defenses carefully to withstand attacking armies and long sieges. Strategically place towers and gatehouses, and position troops on the ramparts. Gather resources and manage your economy to construct castles, villages and towns. Expand your territory to gain control of key resources and strengthen your position. Adapt to dynamic events like the market day, tournaments or the king visiting your castle. Command your troops in tactical field battles and intense castle sieges.
